About Me

My name is Hannah Walinder and I am currently a fashion merchandising major (with a business minor) at Illinois State University. My experience in the industry includes working in retail for four and a half years at Justice, a tween brand for girls. Through working in retail, I have gained first hand knowledge of how consumers shops while noticing what works and what does not in-store. Good customer service is another skill that I added to my repertoire from being a style advisor. As a style advisor, my job is to help young girls and their loved ones find the perfect outfit that will give them confidence to be their true selves. Also, I plan to complete an internship in the summer 2020, hopefully with a fashion wholesale company. My career goal is to either work for a wholesale company or to be a visual merchandiser. Both of these aspects of the fashion industry peak my interest at the moment.

I decided to start a fashion blog to express my thoughts and ideas regarding the ins and outs of the fashion industry. Anyone who is interested in learning about the industry should keep up with my blogs because I will provide insight on the current issues such as sustainability, along with all things fashion-clothes and accessories. I’d like to create this blog to formulate discussion and help myself better understand the industry. I would say my personal and professional strengths are the same; organization. This can help me succeed in writing posts and keeping up a successful blog.

This blog will include various photos of fashion window displays that I will be analyzing and critiquing. I will be using knowledge I gain throughout my semester in FCS 368. I look forward to sharing my opinions on this part of the fashion industry. I hope you enjoy my point of view!
